The Visual Arts and Communications Academy is dedicated to nurturing students interested in pursuing a career in the visual arts through an integrated, relevant curriculum tailored to their individual needs. This preparation will assure that our students will find success in the work place and that they will be prepared for the competitive demands of the twenty-first century. The Visual Arts and Communications Academy is a "school within a school" for students interested in a career in Photography, Illustration, Sequential Arts, Graphic Design, 3-D Graphics, Video, and Animation. These fields are all driven by technology and require a high degree of specialized training. The academy will integrate required Language Arts, and Social Studies courses into academy activities focusing on academic content through project-based technology applications, The academy will offer excellent college preparation and an orientation to career opportunities in the fields of advertising, multimedia, web design, animation, communications, and publishing.
