Two PTSO scholarships in the amount of $500 will be awarded each year. Applications are available in the Counselor’s office or by downloading here:

Completed applications should be delivered to the PTSO mailbox at SVHS, sent electronically to ptso.svib@gmail.com, or mailed. The mailing address is: P.O. Box 101512, Irondale, AL 35210.

The deadline for applications for the 2007-08 academic year and thereafter is April 1, with scholarship winners being announced by no later than April 15.

Scholarship winners will be announced at awards day at each of the schools.

2007-08 SCHOLARSHIP ELIGIBILITY

§     Applicant must be a senior during the 2007-08 academic year

§     Applicant must have contributed a minimum of 100 community service hours within the 12 months prior to application

Service is defined as activities that have a significant impact in meeting the needs of local communities and includes:

§ Service through school- or community-based service projects

§ Service with community organizations that can be verified by the organization

§ Service with a faith-based organization that does not include religious instruction

§     Applicant must be a US citizen or permanent resident

§     Applicant’s parent or guardian must be a current member of the PTSO in good standing

§    Applicant must have plans to attend an institution of higher education (Funds must be used for educational expenses and will be forwarded directly to the school upon receipt of verification of enrollment.)
